" SMOKEN AT KD DRAGWAY " !      A cloud of SMOKE,  The smell of rubber burning, The roar of the engines and the anticipation of the lights coming down !          This is where the excitement begins !                   At KD's Burn Out Box !

Then >>   Git ready to Climb The Hill !           This Hill may look a little intimidating,  but it has helped saved the bacon of several Racers over the years when a Brake Pedal has hit the floor board  or a Chute didn't open !    With plenty of distance to get slowed down after the Finish Line,  there's also the help from  " Mother Nature "   with a thing called  " GRAVITY "  going up the Hill !   Also,  Rails well over the length of any Door Slammer and setting as low as 2 1/2 to 3 inches  from the ground can get up - over - then back down the hill with out putting a scratch on the under side !       Now, that I've said all that,   Come on out and                              Come Climb The HILL !

" Butch Wright "  was out with his new Ride .   Another Altered, similar to his old one.      Presently  powered with a Chevy small block and quite quick,  Butch said he had intentions of replacing the Chevy motor with a sooped up Ford motor.         It was good to see Butch back in the action....

A Demond from out of the Past - " Butch  Wright "   used to really make it tough on the other Bracket One Racers with this Hot Rod !

" Charlie & Judy Knisley "   were back at KD  with one of their newest toys !   This good looking 1965 Flacon was quick on it's wheels !  Practicly Street Leagal, other that a set of slicks and set of mufflers, this little hot rod was hard to handle with it's 347 & Jerico Trainy !  Charlie said given a little time and a few modifications here and there it will make another Hotty !

" Josh Cooper "  one of KD's  younger competitors can often be seen in KD's  Bracket II competition !

"Smoken At KD " - Bryan Moore  and his 1966 Ford Fairlane was a big hit with the Spectators !       Bryans Hot Rod is a real Classic !   Up on a close inspection,  you'll see some real detail work inside and out.       Powered by a 427 C.I. motor it is a " Show AND Go "  Hot Rod !

" Landrum Racing "  was back at KD  with their 1955 Chevy.                   This Hot Rod got everyones attention !

" Vanderpool  Racing"  was back at KD DRAGWAY  and really stirring things up in Bracket One !      Ted and his Son Mike have been competeing at KD  for as long as I can remember or have been around.        Doing some radical burn-outs - wheelstands and making some quick runs has always put the " Vanderpools "  and their Hot Rods in the top of the list with the Spectators at KD .

" Morgan Racing "  is another racing family that is always a welcome sight at KD.      It was good to see the Morgans back in the competition again !

" Curt Mace "   has been getting peoples attention at KD  with his new Ride.   Getten a little air and getten down the track and winning a few rounds as he goes,  Curt has been having a great time with his new Hot Rod !

After taking photos at KD  for around 9 years I've got to see a few changes as well as Racers come and go.  I've also had the privilage of seeing a few racers grow in to the Sport of Drag Racing as I have this young man. " Matthew Alley "   Son of a racer that I'm sure many of you know  ( Duke Alley  ) and Owner of Alley Racing as well as  " Alley Performance "   Matthew done good at KD's  Friday Night Run What You Brung & Test & Tune Event's Trophy Race.    Matthews first race and in his car took home the First Place Trophy  in Bracket III.

Pit Row at KD  on July 4th.........     On a race day at KD  you get a  " Two for One " !   You get to see some great Racing as well as on a walk through the Pit Area,  you get an up-close and personal look at some really great looking Hot Rods  as well as getting to meet the people who built and drive these awsome machines!

" Bond Racing "  was back at KD.   This is another good looking Hot Rod that can often be seen competing at KD.     A Father & Son Team ,  they are long time Competitors at KD and their Hot Rod is always quite popular with the Spectators .   Doing some radical burn outs and Getten a little air ,                    always gets the crowds attention !

" Ryans - Ford Fairmont "           Made a grand appearance on it's first day out with it's new motor !

John Yeauger was back at KD  for the big 4th of July Event . This Hot Rod is always a big hit with the Spectators when at KD !

" Randy Dawson Jr. "  a member of the notorius " Dawson Gang "  known at KD  for having some good looking as well as quick Hot Rods - was making his way down the track in this Ford Maveric.     And -  Getting a little air at KD's 4th of July Event !

The Delotells were back at KD  for the 4th of July competition !

" Baxter Racing "  was back at  "KD DRAGWAY  "  with their recently acquired Rail .

Here is another good looking Door Slammer that was present and competed in KD'S  4th of July Event .

This Classy looking Wagon got the Spectators attention as it went down the Track....

Eddie Leadingham  was out this week end with his Hot Rod Camaro.

" Gitten a Little Air "

If you can see this view of  the " Shifnoid Rail ",  going down the Track,  Then you've done got the Axe >>  by  " Pat  Mcfadden "  and his Nostalgic  - Sling Shot Dragster . Pat and his Rail  are well known throughout the Tri-State areas Drag Racing community. Although Pat and his Hot Rod have been featured many times in the past on here , I always enjoy  thumming through photos of this old Hot Rod and sharing them with my racing friends out there...   Being quick as well as consistant are what these rails were and are known for               and the "Shifnoid Rail "  is no exception  !

The High Point of the day for me is when the " Bracket One Racers "   line up in the Stageing Lanes at KD DRAGWAY .        I think that a line up like this can compete with any Cruise-in at any hamburger joint that you might go to.

" Larry Skaggs "   was back at KD  with that good looking and quick running Ford Mustang of his.   With a few changes and a couple of new parts installed over the OFF SEASON,  Larry  was back at KD  running a little quicker and a bit faster than last season.

" Steve & Jordan Delotell "  ( father & son )  were competing in KD's  Saturday Bracket Racing Event in their Hot Rod Chevy Camaro.     Another Family Drag Racing together as a team always helps add to the excitement of the competition !
