Hope you all had a great Holiday.
2012 is hear and what will it bring ??? Only time will tell and the 2012 Season is just around the corner !
A lot of gossip is going around about the up coming season, AND if only half of it is true, the up coming season should be full of excitement...
One bit of information that I've recieved is,, that an old favorite of mine, a really cool looking and quick Chevy Nova called the TERMINATOR owned by Fred Clark should be back on the asphault once again !!! This hot Rod , even before it was put in the shop for some extensive modifications was a BAD .*&S Hot Rod !
While bandying around over in the great state of Kentucky, my boys and I found our way to the shop of Donnie Smith Racing... Donnie Smith had a really cool shop. Parked in it was several DRAG RACING - HOT RODS that have been seen at KD DRAGWAY... Donnie told me about some plans that he and his son Donnie Ray had for their hot rod and the 2012 season...... Sounds like Donnie Smith Racing is going to crank it up a bit for the up coming season ...

>>>>>> Should anyone have any information or something that you would like to share with the rest of us about the up coming season send it to me and I will get it posted !!!!
It was another year with out any injuries to any of the Racers or Spectators at KD, which I believe is something to be exspecially thankfull for.......
By years end,,,, our Big Daddy, DARRELL LEADINGHAM - owner of KD wound up with a new Hot Rod that I'm sure next Season will put some excitement in to the up and up-coming Events....
As usuall, from what I heard at some of the last events of the Season, there are going to be a lot of up-dates, and modifacations done to some existing Hot Rods as well as a few new Hot Rods that will be added to next Years line up !!!
As many of you,,, I'll be looking forward to see what the 2012 Season has in store for us.........
>>>> I would like to thank Darrell and Sue Leadingham for permitting me to take Photo's another year at KD DRAGWAY as well as all of you who took home one and some of you who took home several of our Photographs and T - Shirts throughout the 2011 Season......
May GOD BLESS all of you and hope to see you all in the 2012 Season ! !
Incase some of you haven't heard ????? Darrell, who for the longest time competed in a GM / Chevy Product, and had one of the baddest little Camaros around,,,,, has acquired a MOPAR / PICK UP..... Now aint that a HOOOT ! From what I've seen of it,,, once he gets a few things straightened out with the truck it ort to be hard to clean after !!!!! He didn't get to make a run with it this season, BUT he's got all winter to tinker with it and get it right.....
The last week end, we got to see " Donnie Ray Smith " , the younger half of Donnie Smith Racing,,,, take home his 12th. Win of the 2011 .
-----------------------------------------------------
Sundays Rain Day - " KING OF THE HILL RACE " was a big success !
Being held on an off day so to speak ( Sunday ) many of KD's faithfull Hot Rodders as well as quite a few Spectators came out.
>>>>>> With Racers showing up like " Charlie Knisley " with his Ford Maveric which has been known to do a pretty good wheel stand ,,,, The Baxter Racing Family and thier sleek looking and quick RAIL ,,,, One of KD's most repected Racing familys showed up to dual it out - Sherm and his son Tyler Basdin who recently got married, brought out thier Hot Rods to compete in the big KING OF THE HILL EVENT....
Donnie Smith Racing was also there to compete in the big Event and at nights end took home FIRST PLACE IN BRACKET ONE...... Mike Sparks ( A.K.A. - SPARKY ) ended the night with a close SECOND PLACE in BRACKET ONE !!!!
With NO accidents or injuries - - - and every one having a great time,,,,,, with another day of great competition and people having a great time,,,,, I think EVERYONE went home a WINNER !!!!
Got some coooool Pics from the Event, so keep checking in !!!
And, a BIG THANKS to those of you who went home with one of our Photos ! ! ! ! !

UUU - RA ! the DRIVERS MEMORIAL RACE for Don Asbaugh and Fredd Nungester, was a real success !!!
-------------------->>>>>>>>>
Due to the combined efforts of Darrell Leadingham, owner of KD DRAGWAY and our good friend's " CHARLIE and JUDY KNISLEY ", the Memorial Race wound up being the biggest event of the Season so far .
It was dedicated to two old friends Don Ashbaugh and Fredd Nungester who were regular Competitors and freinds of KD who had passed away this year, along with the " OLD GEASERS - ARM DROP EVENT ",,,,,, it was a week end to remember !!!
We had a line up, that if you missed it, you really missed out ! !
Jimmy Fuller and the big white 1960 Chevy was back and winner of the 6 Second Class in the Old Geasers Race.
Ron Camp, a long time friend of KD was back with his Hot Rod Ford Mustang who wound up winning the 7 - Second Class of the Old Geasers Race.
A Hot Rod that we haddn't seen in some time at KD was a good looking Altered Dragster owned by Steve Howard running a blisterring 127 M.P.H....... who wound up taking first place in Bracket One of the Bracket Racing Event, at the end of the night .......
And what would a big event be with out our old friend Mike Sparks and his Chevy Powered - Ford Mustang who took RUNNER UP in Bracket One at nights end !
A.K.A. - " SPARKY ",,, Mike Sparks has been seen in the Winners Circle many times at KD over the years !
The Morgan Family was there keeping the Racers in Bracket One on thier toes.
AND - - - another old timer who used to really stir things up at KD with an Altered Dragster that ran in the low 5's, by the name of " Butch Wright ", whom I'm sure many of you know was making his way around in the Pit area.....
AND - - - Like I've said several times in the past --- and exspecially this week end,,, the list of names could go on and on...........
Hope to see all at KD in 2012 !!
Also - the large Poster size 13 x 19 Photo's are available once again ! along with the 8 1/2x11 and 11x14 inch sizes.......
Hope to see you all at KD this week ........
Mike, the old Photo Guy at KD........
